Delete your Shared Planner account

Shared Planner is a shared calendar and collaborative task app. If you no longer want to use Shared Planner, you can permanently delete your account.

How to delete your account in Shared Planner

  1. Sign in to Shared Planner.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Open Profile.
  4. Scroll to the bottom and select Delete Account.
  5. Review the deletion information and confirm.

Deletion runs immediately when you confirm, and you are signed out once it completes. This action cannot be undone.

Before you delete your account, you can download a copy of your data from the same Profile screen using Export My Data.

What happens when you delete your account

When you confirm deletion, the following is deleted from Shared Planner:

  • Your sign-in account, including any Google sign-in link, so you can no longer log in
  • Your profile: display name, email address, and profile photo or emoji
  • Groups you created: the group itself and everything inside it — its events, tasks and lists, chat messages, scheduled calls, invite code, and memberships for every member
  • Your memberships in groups created by other people
  • The events, tasks, lists, reminders, and scheduled calls you created
  • Your chat messages, including messages you posted in other people's groups
  • Your event assignments and your notifications
  • Your subscription record, including plan status and any Founding Member status
  • Your notification records, and Shared Planner stops generating new notifications for you. On mobile, the push registration stored on your device by our notification provider may persist until the app is uninstalled or its data is cleared.
  • The images and files you uploaded (profile photo, chat images, group, event and task images) are deleted from our private file storage, unless a file is still legitimately attached to content that survives in someone else's group

What other group members see

If you created a group, that group and its shared content are removed for every member, so please transfer or recreate anything the group still needs before deleting your account. In groups created by someone else, the group continues to exist for the other members, but the content you created — your events, your chat messages, and the tasks and lists you created — is removed for everyone. Tasks and lists that other members created and simply assigned to you remain in the group, with the assignment cleared.

What may remain after deletion

  • A small number of uploaded files. Deleting your account removes your uploaded files from storage. Two exceptions: a file you uploaded that is still attached to content owned by another member — for example a group or event image you set in a group someone else created — is kept so their group keeps working; and if the storage cleanup step fails after your account has already been deleted, a file can be left behind in storage. In that case the file is no longer linked to any account or content and cannot be opened by you or any other member through Shared Planner. You can ask us to purge anything left over at sharedplannerapp@gmail.com.
  • Email delivery records. Logs of emails we sent to you (such as a welcome email) and unsubscribe or suppression entries are kept so we do not email an address that opted out and so we can investigate delivery problems.
  • Retained email addresses. Certain email-delivery, suppression, and unsubscribe records may retain the email address to which a communication was sent.
  • Purchase records. If you ever purchased a subscription, the purchase and store-notification records are kept for accounting, tax, and dispute purposes. Subscriptions bought through the App Store or Google Play are managed by the store — deleting your Shared Planner account does not cancel a store subscription, so cancel it in your store account as well.
  • Internal operational logs. Administrative and activity logs used for security, abuse prevention, and support may reference the deleted account identifier.

These remaining records do not let anyone sign back into your account and are kept only for the purposes above. We do not currently publish a fixed retention period for them; if you want to know what is still held for you, or want it removed where we are able to, email us using the address below.
